This is a landmark year for the Centre, hosting the highest number of conventions and heading into our expansionary phase with our journey to deliver our much anticipated boutique expansion of our convention facilities. Completion of BCEC on Grey Street is scheduled for the end of this year.

Our second series of 'cooking with the community' has just wrapped up and I feel as though I have taken away more than the participants! The classes, held over four weeks at the Centre with our friends from West End Community House, teach the benefits of healthy eating, how to make smart shopping choices and affordable meals.

Our Food & Beverage Department ranks among the best in the world. Our catering credentials are strong - facts and our many awards back up that statement.
Our dedicated team of culinary artisans ranging from Michelin Star rated chefs to apprentice chefs who represented their country in the Bocuse d’Or constantly strive to improve our product through trends and innovation. We are preparing a new Menu Planner for BCEC on Grey St which will take our offering to another level – this will be influenced by our client's needs and ideas, sustainability and supporting QLD’s abundance of wonderful produce.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of Fresh from the Kitchens - our Food & Beverage blog which will give you an insight into what goes on behind the scenes in the Centre’s kitchens and beyond. You will hear from everyone in the kitchen and service areas including the cellar, with all the news and updates - and how we go about delivering a world class Food & Beverage product to our clients.
