Privacy Message

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre respects the privacy of your personal information. Any personal information that you provide will be used for the purposes of responding to your enquiry or comments and will not be disclosed to any other organisation, without your permission.

We may also use your name, address or e-mail address to send you information about our products and services. If you do not wish us to do so, please let us know when completing the enquiry form, talking to us on the telephone or making a personal enquiry at the Centre.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is committed to respecting the privacy of your personal information. This policy statement explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information and what steps we take to comply with privacy laws.

Collection and use of personal information

In most cases, we only collect personal information which is necessary for us to provide services to you or to comply with the law. This information may include details such as your name, address, contact information and credit card details. The purposes for which we collect and use your information includes complying with legislative and regulatory requirements, providing services to you, performing administrative functions (for example, lost property or accident reports), conducting customer satisfaction research and telling you about our other services, facilities or events. If you do not want us to advise you about other services, facilities or events please call (07) 3308 3000 and ask to speak to the Centre's Finance Director.

Disclosure of personal information

You will appreciate that we need to disclose personal information to other organisations in connection with the organisation of functions and events and for other administrative reasons. The types of organisations to which we may disclose this information include regulatory bodies, contractors and professional advisers who assist us in providing our services and our insurers. The information that we provide to other organisations will be strictly limited to what is required to provide the event, conduct our operations or comply with the law.

Accessing and correcting personal information

You are entitled to obtain access to the personal information we hold about you. The procedure for gaining this access is set out in an information sheet, which is available from our main reception. If at any time you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please let us know by calling (07) 3308 3000.

Security

We take all reasonable steps to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access to, and modification or disclosure of your personal information.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the privacy of your personal information, please contact us by calling (07) 3308 3000 and ask to speak to the Centre's Finance Director.

Privacy Plan

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is managed by AEG Ogden (Convex) Pty Ltd for the Owner, South Bank Corporation. Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre’s Privacy Plan has been developed to comply with the requirements of the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Cwth) and the Information Privacy Principles contained in Queensland Government Information Standard No. 42.

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre has nominated the Centre’s Finance Director to be the Privacy Contact Officer and will publish contact details for the Privacy Officer on the Centre’s website. The Privacy Contact Officer will be the first point of contact for privacy issues.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre Privacy Plan, which forms a part of the Centre’s Operating Plans, will be regularly reviewed in accordance with the Centre’s Quality Management System.
